Thank you so much for taking part in the New Year, New You Giveaway. My goal is to reach hundreds of women who are ready to seriously upgrade their health and lives…and you’re the inspiration to help them do it!

If you have any questions or need help setting things up, please don’t hesitate to ask. I want to make this a happy, rewarding experience for you, too (and leave you plenty of time for all the festivities of the season!)

So, let’s get to it…here’s the step-by-step guide for creating your giveaway offer:

Step 1 – Decisions, Decisions

  • Decide on what you what you want to give away.  It can be anything that visitors to your site can easily access and/or download.
  • Your giveaway should showcase your expertise and make visitors excited about working with you or buying your products.
  • Your giveaway must NOT be your current opt-in gift. However, you can add your opt-in gift or parts of it to give your giveaway greater value.
  • TIP: To make things as easy for yourself as possible, think of what you already have – a guide, a report, an action plan, audio from a past webinar or telesummit…any quality content that you’ve already created and that glowingly represents you and your services will fit the bill!

Step 2 – Create the Landing/Opt-in Page

  • Create the page where visitors will be downloading your giveaway. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate – just a designated page on your website with a sign-up form to capture emails.
  • Position the provided banner as close to the top of the page as possible. Everyone’s page needs to include this banner so we can have cohesive branding and visitors will know they’re in the right place.
  • Make sure you describe your giveaway and provide clear details on how visitors can access it.  Don’t forget to mention the fact that by accessing the giveaway, they will be enrolled in your newsletter/mailing list.
  • You can deliver the giveaway by emailing subscribers a link to the download page or just send them directly to the download page once they submit their email.  Whatever you choose, just make sure it works (I’ll sign up and test if for you, too.)
  • You’re free to use any copy you’d like on this page and to mention your products and services.

Step 3 – Send Me the Details

I will need:

  • The link to your offer page
  • A description of the giveaway and its value
  • A picture of the giveaway item(s) (300 pixels or larger)
  • A 3-4 sentence bio
  • Your headshot (300 pixels or larger)

I will set all of this up on the giveaway website (featuring links to your fabulous offers) and give you an opportunity to review everything before it goes live.

Step 4 – Spread the exciting news!

  • Everyone taking part MUST send out at least 2 solo emails to their subscribers to promote this event.  Solo emails are usually the best way to engage our audiences and to make it fair, we all need to commit to doing our part. The copy for these emails will be provided as soon as everything is finalized, but you’re free to edit it and give it your own flair.
  • Facebook and Twitter promotional materials will also be provided.  I would love it if you used these resources (especially if you have a responsive audience) but it’s not required.
  • Remember, there are lots of people in your own list/fan base who have yet to have the pleasure of working with you or buying your products…maybe your own giveaway will give them that final motivation to take action!

Extra Credit (This is Completely Optional)

  • You can create extra buzz and incentive for people to sign up when you offer a prize. (I’m offering a 5-day Reboot Program with email coaching and the From Fatigued to Fabulous Interview package as prizes.)
  • If you decide to offer a prize, the easiest way to do it is to automatically enter people when they sign-up for your giveaway and then randomly draw the winner. (Who must be notified, along with me, on January 11, 2014.)
  • Send me the details of your prize, along with all the other details in step 3 so that I can be sure to promote it.
  • If your prize requires the winner to pay shipping (or has any other terms and conditions e.g. an expiration date) please make sure you clearly state this on your opt-in page and in the information you send the winner.

Important Dates and Deadlines:

The giveaway will run from Friday, December 27 until Friday, January 10 (two weeks).

  • Tuesday, December 3rd – please send me the description of your giveaway (before you go to all the trouble of setting it up on your website) so I can review it and make sure it’s a good fit (I’m sure it will be.) Also, please send me your bio, headshot, and a picture of your giveaway item (if available).
  • Tuesday december 17th – please send me the link to your completed giveaway page and a picture of your give away item (if not yet submitted).
  • Friday, December 27th or Saturday, December 28th – Solo email #1 goes out to your subscribers.  You can choose either date but it must be one of these.
  • Solo email #2 can go out any time up until January 10th. Social media promotion is encouraged as much as possible throughout this time period.
  • Saturday January 11th – if you’re offering a prize(s), this is the date to draw and notify the winner(s).  Don’t forget to let me know so that I can post their first name and last initial on the event website.
